Lady

January 28, 2010 — October 20, 2023

Lady, my beloved girl, took her first steps across the rainbow bridge on October 20, 2023 while being held tightly in my loving arms.

Lady was brought into Cavalier Rescue Trust by Susan Kent on January 28, 2012 at 2 years of age, so her birthday was celebrated as January 28, 2010. Lady came to my home with her rescued sister, Casey, after being cleared by a veterinarian. One look at her precious face, and she immediately became a foster failure.

Lady and Casey were very attached and did everything together until Casey crossed the rainbow bridge on April 30, 2020, at the age of 12+ years.

Lady enjoyed traveling with me. We visited Miramar Beach in Florida, several road trips to Atlanta to visit with Susan Kent, Beth and Bob Mundy, and Beth and Kinney Wilson. She attended family celebrations and always had a chair pulled up to the table. Our last trip together was to Hot Springs, Arkansas to attend Cavapalooza IX. We spent four days with over fifty Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and their humans. On this last trip, Lady spent time making new friends with Mary Canning Vaughn and Amy Trace’s boy, Henry. She also enjoyed food tasting as we went to several pet friendly restaurants while there. Her favorite was my lobster tail! We attended a blessing of the animals on this trip, and Lady participated from her stroller for that.

Lady will be missed by those who helped care for her. Dr. Melanie Rossin-Gray and all the Vet Techs who cared for her every month. The groomers at Doggie Stylez who made her beautiful every month. Our neighbor, Terri Carr, and her dog Wilson, who helped care for Lady when I traveled and Lady couldn’t go along. Lady enjoyed going to work with me and often sat in the chair next to me supervising my skills.

Lady had a very expressive face and a prancing walk with one ear thrown over her head. Her way of sweetly crawling into my lap, only to take her little front paw just to slap my face to announce it was supper time will forever be missed.
