Durango was born November 18, 2011, from the day we saw him he captured our hearts. His playful personality and his loving attitude meant he knew no stranger, and everyone was his friend. He loved to go for rides in the car. Especially when we went to drive through windows and the people in the drive through would give him treats or take his picture. He made every day special for me throughout his life. I always had to laugh at the way he would try to talk to me, and we even got him to say love you. Whenever he found something outside, like baby squirrels, baby rabbits, and young ground hogs of course he had to bring it to me.
I will always remember the time he was walking across the yard sort of funny, like he had something and was trying to be sneaky about it. So, I called him and told him to give it to me, which turned out he had a baby rabbit. He gently put the baby rabbit on the ground and pushed it with his nose towards me. Of course, the little rabbit ran off, but it surprised me how such a big guy like this could be so gentle with that baby rabbit. But he treated that tiny little rabbit like its mother would. He was my gentle giant.
He was always right there by my side. There was no being in one room and he in another except at night, where he would sleep on the cool tile of our back room.
So now that you have crossed the Rainbow Bridge, go be young and playful once again. We will always miss and love you dearly.
